Favorite bands?

Gonna get this thread started with a good old fashion question: What's your favorite band? Why?

By knowing this, we can find out what interests our community has in music, and maybe even find some great new bands.

As for me, I've been mostly into "instrumental" music lately. Meaning that the songs have no words, and are mainly focused around the actual sound of the song.

Hmmmm.....

Well I guess for me, I really have no set band that I like, or type of genre that I really listen to. To be honest, I listen to about anything there is out there. If you look at my iTunes, you'll know EXACTLY what I'm talking about. xD

For instance, I might just be scanning the radio and find a song I like, I'll find the song's name and who the singer / composer / etc is, and might check out other songs and see if I like them.

Lately though, the song's have been been switching back and forth between pop and rock.

I'm with Josh in that I don't really have a favorite band and I like most kinds of music. As for type, right now I listen to a lot of Japanese rock and pop music. Sure I don't know what they're saying, but for some reason I listen to more foreign music than anything else.

I listen to mostly metal and the very occasional rap. A7X, Metallica, Eminem, Lil Wayne, Disturbed, etc....

My favorite band no matter how old they are, is System of a Down. I listen to a lot of melodic death metal and a few of my favorite bands in that category are Insomnium, Kalmah, and Amon Amarth.

I listen to the Rolling Stones a lot, along with some AC/DC. I'm not a fan of the current music that's out there, and I'll rather listen to some old stuff any day of the week.

I also love movie soundtracks, and I'll listen to them, as it calms me down. Recently I've been listening to them a ton since I've been stressed with finals lately.
